Name:
Frazer Brindle
Job Title:
Business Development Manager
Places you’ve worked before:
My career includes positions at multiple ICPs including H&MV Engineering, giving me a comprehensive understanding of the electrical utilities sector across both hands-on and commercial roles.
What attracted you to the industry?
I previously worked in the ICP sector for 12 years, both on and off the tools. During that time I had a lot of interactions with various IDNO’s which always interested me. So when IDCSL offered me the opportunity to join the team, it seemed like a great opportunity to expand my knowledge and learn another aspect of the electrical utility sector.
What do you enjoy most about your profession?
I really enjoy being in a customer facing role. It’s great getting to constantly meet new people and build strong business relationships. Every conversation is different, and you never know what interesting project might come up next.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I remember I wanted to be a chef when I was very young. However, this changed quite a lot as I grew up, I went through phases of wanting to be an actor, policeman, lawyer, and reporter. I had quite the career journey planned!
If you could travel back in time and give your younger self career advice, what would it be?
I would advise myself to keep going, as I wouldn’t be where I am today without all my past work and personal life experiences. Every role teaches you something valuable, even if you don’t realise it at the time.
What’s your biggest career highlight to date?
Any first project win for a company is always a massive highlight, there’s nothing quite like that feeling. Also, winning my first EV site was a big personal win, as it was a relatively unexplored sector at the time and felt like breaking new ground.
What’s the most valuable thing that gets you through your working day?
The diversity within my role is a massive factor in keeping the working day exciting and fresh. Also, working with a great team who support each other and collaborate brilliantly makes all the difference.
